Philadelphia on your Doorstep
The Warwick Rittenhouse Square is standing by for your visit. It’s hard to find a better spot for your next trip, as everything Philadelphia has to offer is available as soon as you walk outside our lobby.
One of Philadelphia’s oldest public areas, the Rittenhouse Square was originally laid out as a public park by Philadelphia founder William Penn in the late 1700’s, has long been the heart of the city. Opening a little later in 1928, The Warwick has long been the centrepiece of Rittenhouse Square.
The best way to see Philadelphia is on foot. That way you are sure not to miss out on everything our city has to offer. The Warwick Rittenhouse Square makes a perfect start/finish line. A great adventure is only a pair of comfortable walking shoes away.
Everything is close by. The Philadelphia Convention Center is an easy walk away, as is Independence Hall, where the United States was founded. Next door is that great icon of American Independence, the Liberty Bell. World-class shopping, dining and entertainment are also within easy walking distance.
Two other world-renowned landmarks, the Philadelphia Zoo and the University of Pennsylvania, one of the world’s most distinguished universities, are either short drives or convenient public transit hops away.
The Philadelphia Zoo is an absolutely must see when visiting Philadelphia. Opened in 1870, following a delay due to the American Civil War, it was the first zoo in the United States and has long been regarded as one of the finest zoos in the world. Recently it was included in a round-up of some of the best zoos in the world by Expedia.
We were excited to also be featured by the well-known trip planners, as the perfect place to rest your weary feet after a day visiting the zoo.
‘You’ll be made to feel at home at the Warwick Hotel,’ reads the article. ‘After working up an appetite exploring the zoo, restore your energy levels at the hotel’s restaurant, The Prime Rib, before returning to your newly refurbished room. Free Wi-Fi and a big bed await.’
Don’t let the gorgeous historic façade of the Warwick complete with landmark status fool you. Our hotel has been fully remodelled, boasting a contemporary décor and state-of-the-art facilities.
The Warwick will always be the perfect combination of the old and new. We can’t wait to see you the next time you are in the City of Brotherly Love. For more information on the zoo and our hotel, read Expedia’s article, 'Amazing Sustainable Zoos Around the World'.
